Week 2 Is Over!

We made it through a 5 day week. The kids completely wore
me out! I am started our reading rotations a week early this
year. The kids were finally able to successfully move through
reading rotations by Friday.  Reading Rotations are the
management system that I use for teaching reading. During
this time we will be practicing Read to Self, Journal
Writing, Word Work centers, Computer centers, Listening
centers and our Poetry center. I am hoping that each week
the students will be able to work more and more independently.

First Week is Over!

We successfully made it through the first week of school!

The amount of times that I heard, "I want to go home," dropped

each day. By the end of today, no one was asking to go home.

I guess we can call that success! I had completely forgotten

how hard the first week of school is for 1st graders.

Some of them are ready to go and excited about every second,

but most of them are tired out and wondering when play time

is. This class seems to be getting along great. They are such

a sweet little group. I am so excited to work with them. You

will be so shocked to see how much they will learn and grow

this year. I plan on using this blog to help keep everyone updated.

Please check it often. I will try to update as often as possible.

Hope the kids get a lot of rest this weekend and are ready to do

it all again on Monday!

Have a great weekend!
